Not entirely, but should be subsidized, based on grades and income-level.

 @9DM72XZIndian National Congressanswered…7mos7MO

No, but it should be subsidised to the point that it’s a minor cost, since infrastructure is subsidised.

 @9CQH6WJBharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

For the deprived, disadvantageous and lower income category. As an act of affirmative action, tution should be in proportion to their income levels.

 @9CQ4QXVanswered…9mos9MO

Should hand out more scholarships for deserving and poorer students.

No, because those the students who are going to earn tons of money . But there should be decreased fees for economically weaker section

 @8SKTYK6Bharatiya Janataanswered…3yrs3Y

Not free , but some support to low income groups , in terms of internships , part time jobs etc. And tution. Fee is very high , must be reduced .

 @8RYCMZQBharatiya Janataanswered…3yrs3Y

Not completely free but at very low prices, along with scholarships opportunity for economically weaker sections etc.

 @8RW59KDanswered…3yrs3Y

Not free, but should be very very less as compared to today;which is too expensive today.

 @m123456789ianswered…3yrs3Y

It's actually tricky because good education requires resources and we are already low on these resources.

 @8QSQQK7Independentanswered…3yrs3Y

No. It should be free or subsidized for people who can't afford it based on their economic status.

 @8QM3R53answered…3yrs3Y

Education should be free for all. Given the current situation it should be free

 @8QK28KCanswered…3yrs3Y

No, but government should provide generous scholarships based on social and economic impact of their outputs.

 @8QCVXDFAam Aadmianswered…3yrs3Y

No. For good students from low-income families, government may consider interest free loans. But no blanket schemes like 'free for this category' as they often are misused.

 @8KJQRCTBharatiya Janataanswered…3yrs3Y

No, but they should be subsidised without compromising on the quality of the education provided.

If government is funding someone's education he MUST serve in India atleast for few years

 @9CPW5SYfrom Illinois answered…9mos9MO

 @8XLFRJVBharatiya Janataanswered…2yrs2Y

The entire education system should be reformed. And tution culture should be completely annhilated

No, but free for economically backward students with top grades and at a subsidised rate for others.

 @8VXS43LIndependentanswered…3yrs3Y

No. Free/taxpayer funded education will lead to increase in education costs, restrictions on scope of access and drop in quality of education due to overcrowding and poor student to teacher ratio. Tuition fee should be determined purely by market forces

 @8V2VFC3answered…3yrs3Y

No, not until we balance out national deficit but tuition costs should decrease based on family income

 @8TPHBMZCommunistanswered…3yrs3Y

Not only make public universites be free but also regulate the private universites price and lower the tuition charges

 @9CQHF49Bharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

No. Public universities should charge full market fees. Government should introduce vouchers to subsidize students from EWS and backward/lower castes.

 @9CQDNXFBharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

It shouldn’t be free. But not high tuition fees as IIMs and IITs charge.
