instead of adding more dumb carriages i would much prefer more railway lines that would actually make some difference

While building a high speed rail will bring India into limelight and on track with other developed countries, I think for the present Indias focus should be on improving the current rail conditions first and then thinking about something new

 @9JTNCZCIndian National Congress answered…2mos2MO

First priority should be improving railway system, high speed rail should follow next with some foreign investment.

 @9GBQG2RIndian National Congressanswered…6mos6MO

Yes but on parallel they should also consider the condition of prevailing rail system and should improve it also

 @9FMZP8Hanswered…7mos7MO

No. The Government along with Improving Current Rail conditions, should also build more Railways.

 @8Y3RWB3Bharatiya Janataanswered…2yrs2Y

The Government should enable individuals and firms to invest in High Speed Rails.

 @8W8C4SFAam Aadmianswered…3yrs3Y

Instead, improve the already existing railway services first and then move on in investing a world class high speed rail.

 @8VXS43LIndependentanswered…3yrs3Y

No. Infrastructure should be built solely by private companies without any government interference. Govt. Has no business doing business

 @8TG74WXIndependentanswered…3yrs3Y

Govt should allow private sector to carry out high speed rail network construction

 @8T22YMQIndependentanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes but not at the cost of poor OR those who gonna loose their properties for it

 @8SFRFBJMarxist Communistanswered…3yrs3Y

If high speed rail does not destroy the environment and is a more eco friendly option compared to the already existing railways and is more efficient then the government can invest in it

 @8QK94XLanswered…3yrs3Y

Generally, I believe we should have private players running railways, but as long as the government's investment in building such infrastructure is beneficial and efficient, I support it.

 @8PX3CYPAam Aadmianswered…3yrs3Y

yes, but at the same time make sure that the existing ones are well upgraded.

 @8PT634JBharatiya Janataanswered…3yrs3Y

The government is capable to improve current rail conditions and Building high speed rail at the same time.

 @8PHFQN7answered…3yrs3Y

Yes but only limited between areas where high speed rail will boost economy more than what current rail system did.

 @9CTJP8SAam Aadmianswered…9mos9MO

new railway lines needs to be build and not simply just introduce new fast railway trains

 @9CR4C8ZIndian National Congressanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, but make it highly subsidized, available to the masses, have high ridership and generate enough competition and business to wipe out short haul flights.

 @9CQDTK2answered…9mos9MO

With necessary private partners so that small manufacturers can make spares giving jobs to millions and also we need proper research and development

 @9CQCF62Independentanswered…9mos9MO

Yes but with improving current rail conditions should be a higher priority

 @9CQBMNBanswered…9mos9MO

First Improve the cleanliness and educate masses about it in railway stations and then invest in building high speed rail.
