No, but the government should still give minority group some degree of autonomy such that other groups aren't discriminated against.

 @9LJ2ZXXIndian National Congressanswered…7 days7D

Only if they are actually discriminated against. Also, they shouldn't be able to exploit these codes.

 @9L5WP2QBharatiya Janataanswered…3wks3W

No, but it should make sure that the minority groups do not impose their customs and traditions on others

 @9KJR7LQanswered…1mo1MO

Protection should be done at instances which helps our economy and assimilates a sense of love and peace, but if extremist ideas which violate feelings and interests of other communities rationally are done, they should be judged in the court.

 @9JW7J48Bharatiya Janataanswered…2mos2MO

I don’t entirely removing religious customs is the solution but just ensuring that they align with basic features of the constitution and rationality

 @9JGYZSVBharatiya Janataanswered…3mos3MO

Yes, Minority groups should have the freedom to practice their customs but also respect the customs of the majority.

 @9GVR7DWIndependent  from GU answered…3mos3MO

Regardless, intense heterogeneity in our country leads to frequent conflicts, the government should sit everyone down and find a way to end this persistent bickering

 @9GXCQCLanswered…5mos5MO

As minority groups, they should get help from govt. But that should not fuel any religious or cultural superstition and conflict.

Protect culture of micro-minorities like tribes. For everyone else, not required

Religious codes, practices and cultures should not be eliminated unless challenged before the Supreme Court and held to be violative of the basic structure of the Constitution.

 @95XQ88VIndependentanswered…2yrs2Y

Mostly yes but exceptions should be made depending on the situation.

 @95WHXRLIndependentanswered…2yrs2Y

Laws to protect culture and religious freedom are to be preserved only practices that prejudicial to others rights should be allowed to sever able extents

Minorities should have cultural protections if their practices aren't regressive.

No, but these need to be made less powerful. Protection of minorities is different from pandering to minority vote banks .

 @92QJ8LZBharatiya Janataanswered…2yrs2Y

they can have their own codes but must pay additional taxes to uphold it

 @92H95Q2Bharatiya Janataanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, to some extent, but avoid them from using the victim card as an excuse for committing crimes.

 @92DN7NWIndependentanswered…2yrs2Y

Uniform civil code is good but should be brought with proper care to culture ans traditions of everyone

 @929DK8MBharatiya Janataanswered…2yrs2Y

No, but there should be clear demarcations in official set ups like schools, courts etc.

 @925D62Zanswered…2yrs2Y

No groups should have any special privileges over other group all religious institutions should be free of government control

 @8ZGGNXJIndependentanswered…2yrs2Y

a uniform civil code doesn't threaten any minority group or cultural practice. this question is misleading

 @8Z7Y6H8Independentanswered…2yrs2Y

As long as culture doesn’t harm anyone. If it does then same law for everyone.

 @8WGCN4RBharatiya Janataanswered…3yrs3Y

Eliminate culturally practices that is not socially progressive, others are ok

 @9D3GP7VIndependentanswered…9mos9MO

Only those codes which violate human rights and not just of minority groups but also the majority groups

 @9D37BNZBharatiya Janatafrom California answered…9mos9MO

Overall rights must be guaranteed to all people uniformly, while certain specific cultural aspects may be supported additionally

 @9CZS32RIndian National Congressanswered…9mos9MO

No, but discriminatory cultural practices of minority groups should be ended by the application of common law.

 @9CRBBVQIndependentanswered…9mos9MO

 @9CQXYVCIndependentanswered…9mos9MO

People should have the freedom to practice whatever culture / faith they like or belong to, however it's not upto the govt. To allocate the taxpayer funds to make an effort. It's their private matter and shouldn't be incentivised.

 @9CQTR63Aam Aadmifrom New York answered…9mos9MO

No, but create a court system where any ruling in a religious court can be appealed to the Supreme Court

 @9CQSLMHBharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

Law should treat everyone the same way. And the law should be based on universal qualities like love, honor, equality and fraternity

 @9CQL59WIndependentanswered…9mos9MO

There should be minimum protection liable to only certain parts but major protection should be removed.

 @9CQKT33Bharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

Yes if the definition of minority group is well defined, for example, <=10% of population is a minority group.

 @9CQHY6ZBharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, everyone should be governed by the same law (both civil and criminal codes)

 @9CQG7F7answered…9mos9MO

Codes that protect cultures without any regulations or without considering impact on larger society should be removed. Codes should not consider the size of each culture. They should only consider the message and impact.

 @9CQDX87Dravida Munnetra Kazhagamanswered…9mos9MO

As long as basic tenets of liberalism like equality irrespective of gender, liberty etc are maintained, minority groups can practice their own codes.

 @9CQDKMHBharatiya Janataanswered…9mos9MO

Every group can follow what they want provided it doesn't go against the golden rule of mutual respect.
