I dont support death penalty as i think is an easy way out and it gives too much power to the judiciary to set a standard for death penalty. How do they get to decide which convict deserved death penalty and which doesnt.

 @9FYF5BKIndependentanswered…7mos7MO

Used as a deterrent but never actually carried out. Terminally ill prisoners are allowed to choose euthanasia and it is published as a death penalty to scare people into abiding the law.

Death penalty should be applied in the rarest of the rate case only when collective conscience of society is so shocked that life imprisonment appears to be inadequate

Not in all cases , more in favor of torturous imprisonment for un reform able criminals and terrorist, human right should not be applied to them and they should be treated as Pile of refuse. But only in the rarest of the rare cases

 @8WY44CNanswered…2yrs2Y

Only if not killing the criminal would worsen the problem; if Osama bin Laden had been imprisoned not killed, a string of terrorist attacks would have broken out demanding his release. In such circumstances, the criminal must be executed.

Yes, but only for drug trafficking and terrorist activities resulting in mass deaths.

 @9CQBMNBanswered…10mos10MO

offcourse offender should be punished strictly but Treat the offender as a subject and study him/her social behaviour with a group of sociologists and anthropologists doing questionnaire about their social life and what led them to that particular offence and later using those studies state can make public policies to prevent or restrict offences in future.

 @9CQ5P48answered…10mos10MO

No but the where the person is involved in killing many people or a serious rape case those person should be given death penalty

 @9CQ2GTNIndian National Congressanswered…10mos10MO

Yes. It should result in immediate death without much suffering and should be limited to horrific crimes where it seems impossible for a criminal to get rehabilitated.

 @9CQ25F2Bharatiya Janataanswered…10mos10MO

The threat should always exist but should be used extremely sparingly.

Death penalty should exist only for terrorists, repeat rapists and serial murderers

I think that rapist and terrorist should get death penalty with extreme torture but before that there body parts like Eyes, etc. Should removed and given to the people who need that part. And one more thing Govt. Should ensure that any innocent Don't have to suffer from this things after confession is given by accused then only process of taking body parts and extreme torture death penalty should apply. Investigation should be transparent to honest, proofs should be there.

 @8QM45YLCommunistanswered…3yrs3Y

No, not only do innocent people get convicted, but death penalty does not decrease crime rates. Focus should be on rehabilitation instead

 @8QM3R53answered…3yrs3Y

No, death cannot compensate to what happened to the victim. Death penalty doesn’t reduce crime rates. Capital punishment should be abolished

No, automatic appeals make it significantly more expensive than a life sentence.

Yes, but only for horrific crimes with undeniable evidence, because too many people are innocently convicted. Plus, I think that spending life in prison is a harsher sentence because the dead don't suffer unless their soul was sent to hell that is.

Yes, bring back public executions for rapists, unprovoked murderers, and anything against animals.

 @9334YP3answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, for those sentenced to life in prison as well as for those sentenced to death, but in both cases, only when further appeal is impossible or not desired.

 @92WTP23 from Pennsylvania answered…2yrs2Y

No, it would be less expensive to implement life in prison without parole
