Capitalist greed and profit motives of private corporations have led to the destruction of the climate. To sacrifice the futures of all forthcoming generations for short term profits is selfish. Further, we are at a stage in the climate crisis where hoping companies would reduce carbon emissions of their own accord, without government intervention, is not something we can afford.
