Absolutely Not, its a sovereign part of India and should have forever been given the same status as every other state in India. Article 370 abolishment was a master stroke.

They should be treated just like any other state. They should not be a Union Territory. They should be allowed to elect their own local government and state legislature.

Granting Jammu and kashmir special status significantly decreased the centre has on it
which in turn is bad for the entire country. Seeing JAmmu and kashmirs geographic and political importance i belive it’s important for the centre to have a control on it hence it shouldn’t have special status.
